这本第五版重点在光盘上，印刷版反而成了配角。证据如，collocation 的数据，印刷版收录 65,000 笔，光盘上多给了 82,000 笔；Synonym 数据，印刷版收录 18,000 笔，光盘多给 30,000 笔数据。光看这些，就足够把印刷版的使用者全部赶到光盘上了。光盘部分，由原来的两张 CD-ROM 变成一张 DVD-ROM。实质内容的增加，明显可以感受得到。LDOCE5 的 front matter 更直接说明了
以两片光盘容纳辞典内容，除了 OED 之外，就是 LDOCE4v2。现在这一新版更扩而大之，用起 DVD-ROM 来了。如我之前说的，安装后的数据容量，从 1.14GB 扩大到 2.31GB，大约相当四张 CD-ROM 的容量。
打开画面，十二个功能如棋盘状展开。Guided Tour 有 58段动画概述，我强烈建议使用者先全部看过。因为整套软件的功能大致都有不错的解说。这个开启画面，每次启动软件都要在此停留，还真有点累赘。点选左上 角 Dictionary 即可进入辞典.

说明:7月1日2时首发，因未破解故以版权为由删除，这只为抛砖引玉，现已有补丁所以再发。

破解方法：
用虚拟光驱加载打开原镜像点击setup.exe安装后，将原朗文5安装目录LDOCE5下的ldoce5.exe重命名为ldoce5.exe.bk,再将ldoce5.exe.crack.rar解压得到的ldoce5.exe复制到朗文5安装目录LDOCE5下即可。
(或将补丁ldoce5.exe覆盖原ldoce5.exe也可)
