　　故事讲述一个棒球接球员很多年前在大球队打过一阵，现常年屈居二流球队，如今已人到中年，打球只是为了兴趣。但是，上级派给他培养接班人的任务，而这个新手性格怪异，傲慢无礼，但才华横溢。科斯特纳必须赢得他的心，同时他又爱上了一个有钱的女球迷。
