Search for references easily with new integrated tab
Now all searching is integrated into the main EndNote Library window. The Quick search is located on the EndNote toolbar, while the preview pane includes a new tab for searching your EndNote library as well as online resources. The EndNote X2.0.1 update is now available. It’s FREE to EndNote X2 users and includes highly requested features that allow you to work with increased flexibility.
INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
Windows:
Before installing the Endnote X2.0.1 patch, you need to lock the license.dat file or EndNote X2.0.1 may revert to being a demo. If it reverts to being a demo, you will need to uninstall and reinstall EndNote to re-enter your product key. To stop this from happening, do the following:
1. Open Computer (My Computer on XP)
2. Open Program Files, and then open the EndNote X2 folder.
3. Locate the License.dat file. Right click on it and choose Properties.
4. Click the “Read Only” box so there is an X here.
It is recommended that you use Program Updates. Close all programs and turn off any background software, such as virus protection software. Open EndNote, go to the Help Menu, choose “EndNote Program Updates…” and follow the on-screen prompts.
What’s New in X2.0.1
EndNote library modes
New EndNote library modes enable you to choose the way you like to work. You can use the online search introduced in EndNote X2 that imports results automatically into your EndNote library, or the temporary online search that requires moving references to the permanent library.

Register for your own EndNote Web account
EndNote now includes your own EndNote Web account so you can collaborate with colleagues and students easily. Using EndNote and EndNote Web you can:

* Share EndNote Web groups—simplify collaboration
* Cite references from both EndNote and EndNote Web in a single paper
* Work on the desktop, the Web or both!
Interface 15: Every time I launch EndNote X2.0.1 Windows I am being asked about EndNote Web signup. How can I disable this?
Answer: We are expeting to correct this in a future update to EndNote X2. Note you can can do the following to get around the issue now:
1. Go to the “Start” Menu and type “Regedit” and hit the Enter key. On XP go to the start menu, Choose “Run” and type “Regedit” and Click OK.
2. Go to the folder
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\ISI ResearchSoft\EndNote\Plugins\WebServices
3. Go to the Edit Menu, Choose “New” and then “Multi-String Value”
4. Change the name of the New String to
ShowENWebRegScreenForVer_12.0.1
5. Right Click on the string and choose Modify.
6. Set the “Value Data” to
F
7. Close the Registry Editor and launch EndNote X2.0.1.

安装过程：
首先解压，解压后endnote x2文件夹下有2个文件，ENX2Inst.msi和License.dat，把他们放在一个目录里

然后双击ENX2Inst.msi进行安装

点next，如果出现以下对话框，就说明可以正常安装

如果出现以下窗口，说明你没有把License.dat文件和安装文件放在同一目录，这样就只能安装试用版

然后继续next就可以了

然后你可以选择安装类型，complete就是默认完全安装，custom就是个性安装，我一般选择custom，可以个性化安装位置及组件

如果是安装在以前安装的目录，会出现询问

如果是安装在全新目录，则跳过前面的，直接让你个性化组件

到这步安装的准备工作就结束了，点next开始复制文件

安装过程时间可能比较长，因为要复制几千个style，filter和connections等小文件

等待复制过程结束，安装应该也就到尾声了，点击finish或者run，enjoy endnote x2吧
