1970年12月出生于英国Norwich的Beth开创了一种全新的风格，就是将传统的民谣和Trip-Hop完美的结合起来，她在发行自己的专辑之前同William Orbit，Chemical Brothers等人合作过，并且William Orbit还参与了以后她专辑的制作。
她先是在1993年发行过一张叫Superpinkymandy的EP，据说在日本取得了不错的成绩。在1996年她的全新EP名叫She Cries Your Name发行，随后是首张专辑Trailer Park，像She Cries Your Name，Galaxies Of Emptiness和翻唱的I Wish I Never Saw The Sunshine都是十分不错的歌。
1997年她发行了Best Bit这张EP，随后同爵士民谣的传奇人物Terry Callier一起制作她的新专辑Central Reservation，1999年发行后，CR立刻成为畅销，并且专辑中的Stolen Car还成为大学点播率很高的热门单曲，甚至带着这张专辑上美国巡演的她也受到了美国人的喜爱。
所以很容易明白Ryan Adams为什么会参与到她第三张专辑Daybreaker的创作群里来了，同时创作这张专辑的还有Chemical Brothers。
