Now That’s What I Call Music!》是EMI百代唱片创立的容各大唱片公司当红巨星於一体的唱片品牌，作为全球流行乐迷的指标性唱片，NOW的唱片在选曲上都围绕着当年流行榜上前20位的单曲，专辑匯集了每一年最酷劲的歌曲！几乎是收录了每年度各种不同型态的热门音乐。从1981年至今，作为全球流行乐迷的指标性唱片，《Now !》系列唱片已有21年历史，名振乐坛，成为跨唱片公司音乐类型中的经典品牌，收录的都是英美排行榜上的热门单曲作品。 作为跨唱片公司的系列精选唱片，《Now !》系列中收录了包括索尼、环球、百代等唱片公司旗下的歌手作品。几乎每张专辑都进入了 Billboard 排行榜的前十名位置。2000年，《Now! 4》成为首张同类精选专辑中获得排行榜第一的专辑。后来，2001 年发行的《Now! 6》、《Now! 7》还有《Now! 9》均取得了榜首的好成绩。从美国唱片工业联会（RIAA）的销量调查报告中显示，在《Now !》系列 1 – 8 这几张唱片中:《Now! 1》成为美国本土的白金唱片（注：RIAA规定１张白金唱片的销量为１百万张），《Now !》系列2、3、4是双白金，5和《Now Christmas!》都有四白金的销量，《Now !》系列6、7、8则有三白金。这样突破四千万销售量的成绩真使人不得不对这一系列流行快餐式的唱片刮目相看。严格来说，《Now !》其实有 2 个系列：其一诞生在1981年，收录的歌曲风格以流行摇滚乐为主到２００５年为止，这一系列的《Now !》已出产了第56张精选唱片，仅在美国就已售出了３亿张！ＮＯＷ的唱片在选曲上都围绕着流行榜上前２０位的单曲，风格都是以流行、轻摇滚、舞曲为主，偶尔也会有节奏布鲁斯（Ｒ＆Ｂ）、ＨＩＰ—ＨＯＰ说唱等音乐类型。渐渐发展成为双ＣＤ的精选集，收录更多非榜首热门歌曲，经过混音等方式处理后再发行，显得更丰富和多元化。
另一系列的《Now !》是从1998年开始，序号也从1开始，不同的是单ＣＤ唱片，摆明就是要跟流行风气。到２００５年为止这一系列的唱片已发行到第 19 张，主要收集流行榜榜首歌曲为主。不知為何本来由 EMI 唱片公司发行的《Now !》系列，从《Now !》14开始即转为由 Sony 公司发行，有的网站没有把《Now !》14到18列入到正牌《Now !》系列中，很难了解!　另外是这一系列的台版封面甚至部份曲目与海外版并不相同，而台版在网路上的曲目资料也很难搜索到，海外版系列专辑资料就都很完整，乱乱的《Now !》系列
With the release on January 24, 2006 of NOW #1’s, the Now That’s What I Call Music! series debuts a new offshoot of its extremely successful branded compilation series. Featuring all #1 chart-topping hit singles taken from the complete series of NOW albums (dating back to 1997), NOW #1’s is a non-stop collection of massive hit singles sure to be a must-have with the loyal and avid NOW consumer.
The recent NOW release, NOW 20, debuted in November at the top of the Billboard Top 200 chart for the eighth time in the series’ history. It has subsequently gone on to sell a total of over 2 million units in the 10 weeks since its release, evidence that the NOW brand is clearly one of the most potent retail music brands in the market today and NOW #1’s is set to expand on and broaden that position.
