奶奶级别的Folk，由一对姐妹组成，风格类似Judy Collins，下面来点介绍。
Kate（1946年生）和Anna（1944年生） McGarrigle姐妹来自加拿大，最早得到全球性的关注是在1974年时，一位著名摇滚女歌手Linda Ronstadt录制了Anna创作的Heart Like a Wheel，并将它作为她一张专辑的主打歌（我说怎么看着这么熟，果然很熟…）。然后这对姐妹就签到华纳公司，录制了同名专辑Kate & Anna McGarrigle，两年后推出Dancer With Bruised Knees，这张专辑听上去十分欢快可爱，相信熟悉那个时候音乐的朋友不会感觉听起来陌生。当然，这些专辑取得不错的成绩，但由于商业上的不成功，导致了这张拥有不少拥戴者和经典作品的专辑出版后不久，他们就只能从新选择厂牌。
不过他们离开华纳后（还出版过French Records），出版于1981年的Love Over and Over（寻觅中，找到以后就放出来）倒是更加的受人关注，虽然说在这张专辑之后他们将近10年没有出专辑，将注意力放在个人家庭上，尽管还有那么一些零散的小演出，80年代末期听闻他们将会同Roma Baran合作一个音乐剧，但这个计划最终没能成为现实，1990年，带着他们的回归之作Heartbeats Accelerating，人们再次看到两姐妹的身影。
1998年，出版Metapedia两年之后他们开始了巡演并推出专辑，去年他们也进行了Christmas Tour，之前还推出过两张法语专辑，但从其质量和关注度上，还是他们早期的作品更加优秀。
