也许大家对Maximum The Hormone这个名字并不熟悉，但是相信看过死亡笔记《DEATH NOTE》的人一定会对它的二十集后的新OP和ED不陌生。没错，这两首带有浓重的新金风格的曲子就是由Maximum The Hormone演唱的。
对于Maximum The Hormone，网上几乎没有他们的任何带有中文的简介……无奈之中只好我自己来写。连他们的官方网站也几乎没有过多的介绍，但是却放上了他们小时候的照片（＝ ＝诡异……）。
从我个人感觉来说，他们是近年日本摇滚中相当出色的一支组合。虽然看到他们有的PV十分有VR的感觉，但是！个人感觉他们应该是不属于视觉系来的，因为视觉系最重要的——美丽的外表，很遗憾他们的相貌可称得上五官端正仪表堂堂但是离“绝色”还是有距离的……
如果是不常听METAL ROCK的同学可能会觉得他们的音乐不好听，的确他没有nightmare之类的音乐更旋律，你能感受到的更多的不是唯美而是疯狂和无穷的动力，而在嘈杂之中你能感受到他们的用心，他们靠的实力来取胜！
这张专辑中的Maximum The Hormone明显更加的进步了，专辑中的两首歌曲被选为死亡笔记的OP和ED，相信看过死亡笔记的人都会被这个声音震撼。ぶっ生き返す!!则是加入日本古代乐器的演奏，增加了歌曲的丰富层次和可听性。可以说这张专辑里的每一首歌曲都是值得推荐的。 因为他的确代表了日本当今摇滚乐坛除了VR之外的另一股强劲的力量，这张专辑是他们不断进步的最佳证明。

A mixture of pop punk, funk and hardcore, マキシマム ザ ホルモン (Maximum the Hormone) formed in Hachioji, Tokyo in 1997 with the line up: Daisuke Han (vocals), SUGI (guitar), KEY (bass) and Nawo (drums). After releasing their first album, “A.S.A. Crew”, through indies label SkyRecord, SUGI and KEY left the band and the present line up came to be. After this, the band changed the spelling of their name from the English “Maximum the Hormone” to katakana: マキシマム ザ ホルモン.
In August 2000 they released the single “Bullpen Catcher’s Dream” and following that, in 2001, they released their mini-album “Hou”.
The album “Mimi Kajiru” was released in 2002 and the CD jacket was designed by Man*Ga Tarou, who has continued to design their covers since then. The single “Enzui tsuki waru” was then released and from it, the song “ROLLING1000tOON” was taken and used as the ending theme of the anime “Air Master”, in 2003.
After the release of their 3rd album, “Funban”, in 2004, the band signed to the major label VAP. Their first released through VAP was the single “Rokkuban furewase/ minoreba*rokku ” and this proceeded their first major album “Rokkinpo Koroshi”. Following this, the band embarked on a tour of Japan, “Rokkinpo Koroshi Tour”, that covered 47 different places.
In 2005 the Maximum the Hormone radio program “Menkata Kotteri” began on bayfm. In addition to this, their song “Akagi”, from the single “Zawa…zawa…za…zawa……zawa”, was used as the ending theme to the anime “Toupai Densetsu Akagi ~ Yami ni mai furita tensai~”, which ran from October 2005 to March 2006.
In 2006, the band’s fourth major released, the single “Koi no Mega Lover”, was released and became a hit, reaching number 9 in the Oricon charts. This was great news for the band as it was the first time one of their releases had been in the Oricon top ten.
