在《间谍活动：冬日行动(Undercover：Operation Wintersun)》中玩家将步John Russell的后尘，这是一名1943年纳粹德国著名的核物理学家。Russell是名英国人，他在MI6(英国国际间谍组织)的严密保护下被送去调查德国正在研发的新式武器。尽管本身并没有受过间谍的培训，但在核技术上的专业知识仍然使他成为了发现德国人计划的至关重要的部分，不过他还是会一直需要其他同盟国间谍的协助。
