The Microsoft Certified Desktop Support Technician (MCDST) is one of the newest certification offerings from Microsoft. Designed to teach you the basics of the XP Professional Operating System and how to troubleshoot the OS, hardware, device drivers and fundamental network issues, this training covers the topics and concepts that map to Exam 70-271. When combined with exam 70-272, the two tests make up the certification track for the MCDST.
Instructor Todd Logan takes his time to cover all the information you抣l need not only to pass the exam but to be able to do the job. Todd is our XP expert and you抣l appreciate his use of diagrams, examples and real-world analogies along with his upbeat and fun delivery of the material.

These videos were developed for the help desk person that is relatively new to Windows XP Professional and needs to be able to support installation, migration, administration and end-user access issues. You’ll learn several methods for modifying and customizing the Windows XP interface, migrate user settings from an old computer to a new Windows XP computer, create and manage local user and group accounts and how to troubleshoot network connectivity issues. Additionally, you抣l learn what happens when share and NTFS permissions are combined, setup and manage offline file synchronization, and how to create and implement group policy settings.

There are 16 videos providing more than 8 hours of instruction. A basic understanding of computers and networking, such as the A+/Network+ Combo Pack is recommended before viewing this training.
