最小投入

Geometric Limited, a leader in Product Lifecycle Management (PLM), Global Engineering Services and Offshore Product Development (OPD) solutions and technologies, announced the release Service Pack 2.0 solids-based CNC programming solution, CAMWorks 2012, with support for SolidWorks 2012, as well as improvements to enable faster and easier programming, and to produce more efficient tool paths for improved machining productivity.

“We constantly strive to meet the requirements and changing needs of our users, while also ensuring they benefit from the latest technology advancements for machining. Some of the improvements in functionality and ease-of-use in CAMWorks 2012 include:

Support for SolidWorks 2012

– Feature recognition performance and recognition improvements
– Version 4.0 of VoluMill with the new Non-Concentric Milling technology that reduces cutting-tool loads, and evacuates chips more effectively, thereby increasing the tool life
– Reduction in the time taken to save the files containing a large number of tool path moves
– Ability to add new tools into the TechDB from within CAMWorks
– Shaded display of Contain and Avoid areas Turn roughing operations now support user defined inserts

There are 2 versions of CAMWorks 2012:

32-bit version: CAMWorks 2012 runs in the 32-bit versions of SolidWorks/CAMWorks Solids 2011 and SolidWorks/CAMWorks Solids 2012 on Windows XP Professional SP2 or higher (32-bit or 64-bit version), Windows Vista Ultimate, Business, and Enterprise editions (32-bit version) and Windows 7 Professional, Ultimate and Enterprise editions (32-bit version).

64-bit version: CAMWorks 2012×64 runs in the 64-bit versions of SolidWorks/CAMWorks Solids 2011 and SolidWorks/CAMWorks Solids 2012 on Windows XP Professional SP2 or higher (64-bit version), Vista Ultimate, Business and Enterprise editions (64-bit version) and Windows 7 Professional, Ultimate and Enterprise editions (64-bit version).

Because CAMWorks runs within the SolidWorks environment, the system requirements are basically the same as for SolidWorks:

Recommended: 6GB or more

CPU

Platform: Intel® and AMD® processors
Intel® Pentium® 3, AMD Athlon™ and Athlon XP CPU’s are not supported. CPU must support SSE2 (Streaming SIMD Extensions 2 ), see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SSE2 for more details.

Video

A certified OpenGL workstation graphics card and driver. For a listing of tested and certified graphics cards and driver combinations visit the SolidWorks website
