Who Goes There? is a science fiction novella by John W. Campbell, Jr. under the pen name Don A. Stuart, published August 1938 in Astounding Science-Fiction. In 1973, the story was voted by the Science Fiction Writers of America as one of the finest science fiction novellas ever written, and published with the other top vote-getters in The Science Fiction Hall of Fame, Volume Two. The novella has been adapted three times as a motion picture: firstly in 1951 as The Thing from Another World, later in 1982 simply titled as The Thing, and most recently as the inspiration for a 2011 prequel of the remake.

　　约翰·坎贝尔（John W．CamPbell， 1910－1971）被人称为美国科幻小说“黄金时代”的开山祖，一生主要工作是主编《惊险科幻小说》杂志，培养了一大批科幻小说家，对科幻小说的发展作出了很大的贡献。他自己也写科幻小说，十七岁时开始向《奇异故事》杂志投稿，一九三○年在该杂志上发表了第一篇故事《当原子失灵的时候》。他的创作虽然不很多，但在科幻小说界享有很高声誉，影响也很大，阿西莫夫就是受他影响的科幻小说家之一。
