IMDb信息:&nbspWhile driving through the New Mexico Desert during a rainy night, the college students Jim Halsey and his girlfriend Grace Andrews give a ride to the hitchhiker John Ryder. While in their car, the stranger proves to be a psychopath threatening the young couple with a knife, but Jim succeeds to throw him out of the car on the road. On the next morning, the young couple sees John in another car with a family, and while trying to advise the driver that the man is dangerous, they have an accident. While walking on the road, they find the whole family stabbed in the car, and John sees that the driver is still alive. He drives to a restaurant seeking for help, but the police blame Jim and Grace to the murder and send them to the police station. However, John kills the policemen and pursues the couple, playing a tragic and violent mouse and cat game with Grace and Jim.

　　暑假到了。女大学生格蕾丝•安德鲁斯（索菲亚•布什Sophia Bush饰）和同校男友吉姆•哈尔西（扎卡里•耐顿Kyle Davis饰）打算一路开车前往墨西哥州，体验浪漫刺激的公路旅行。路上却撞见神色不太寻常的路人约翰•莱德尔（西恩•宾Sean Bean饰），请求搭顺风车。两个大学生虽然有所迟疑，但也答应了约翰的请求。 
　　怎知噩梦从此上演。约翰在车上毫不饰掩他的杀人计划，他以杀人为乐，并且目标说不定就是眼前两个手无寸铁的大学生。格蕾丝和吉姆惊恐万状，一番惊险搏斗终于把约翰推出车外，仓皇逃去。噩梦就此完毕？抑或一切还只是刚刚开始？
