总有那么些旋律，随着时间的沉淀，愈来愈深的留在脑海里。
无论是何种语言的歌曲，中文，英文还是日文，甚至是小语种；
无论是怀旧老歌，还是热门金曲；
无论是钢琴的，还是提琴的演奏；
无论是欢快的，还是忧伤的；
听着无法忘却的旋律，让心也沉淀吧。
Moonlight Shadow - 到底是纪念谁？
在 Wikipedia 流行之前，大家都是怎么过的呢？
我是越来越有这种感叹。现在，看到一个不解的名词，一个人名、一首歌、一部电影，或是一句话，第一个想到的，就是上到 Wikipedia 上去查一查。Wikipedia 减少了我许多找资料的时间。
今天，我忽然想到一首歌：Moonlight Shadow， 这首歌我曾经好喜欢，也找过不少资料，想更了解歌曲的意义。像以下的对这首歌的观感，大概是写於 2001 年左右，当时累积我看过的书本、上网找过的资料，也才勉强写了下面一些：
Moonlight Shadow - Mike Oldfield 我总共拥有 Mike Oldfield 的三张专辑，分别是 "Tubulor Bells"，「杀戮战场」原声带 "The Killing Field"，和这张收录 "Moonlight Shadow" 的 "Crises"。以专辑而论，"Crises" 是我最少听的，但却是最常放上CD唱盘的，只为了听 "Moonlight Shadow"。
哀悼约翰．蓝儂？
这首歌乃是哀悼 John Lennon 之死。歌词的用字很简单，但却不是很好解释（至少对我是如此）。据 Mike Oldfield 说，Lennon 遇刺的那天晚上，他和他乐团的歌者 Maggie Reilly也刚抵达纽约，因此感受很深。两年后，他录下这首歌，担任主唱的就是 Maggie Reilly。
我的解读，把 "Moonlight Shadow" 当成某种月光使者（或是一种梦境？），人的魂魄被月光之中的一道阴影给带走（像是幽浮、X档案、第三类接触的场景）。或是活著的人追忆死者时，死去的人是乘著月色而来，全身笼罩在白朦朦的月光之中（好像很多电影都是这么拍的），但生死两茫茫，阴阳的隔阂却是怎么也打不破。
而歌词的 She 指的是 Lennon 的遗孀小野洋子（Yoko Ono），Lennon 遇刺时，Yoko 就在身边，眼睁睁看著自己的丈夫遭枪击，自己什么忙也帮不上。
歌词中的疑问
但歌词中还是有很多疑问难解，例如 Lennon 是在80年12月8日被刺，那天照我的推算，应该是星期一，而歌中唱到的 Saturday night 不知是何意（Lennon 的追悼会是在12月14日，星期天）。且我看的报导，Lennon 是被点三八手枪射了五枪，而歌中唱说 "He was shot six times by a man on the run"。另外 "Caught in the middle of 105" 也不知是什么意思（Lennon 是在他当时纽约的住所前被刺，在中央公园西侧的西七十二街的 Dakota Building。Lennon 在住进此地前，於纽约的前一个住所的地址是 105 Bank Street, New York City），是 Oldfield 写歌时搞错了这些细节吗？或者有些词是为了押韵才这么写的吗？
总之，这是听了会很想哭的歌。我想起了在 "American Pie" 中 Don McLean 唱说他在
送报时看到了他的偶像 Buddy Holly 坠机死亡的消息，他不记得他是否曾为 Holly 新寡的妻子掉泪（I can't remember if I cried/ When I read about his widowed bride），我想这种感觉是类似的。

我们有了 Wikipedia，上去查了一下，原来追念 John Lennon 之类的说法，应该是误传。Mike Oldfield 说这首歌是纪念魔术大师胡迪尼（Harry Houdini）所写。当然，Wikipedia 也不见得就一定正确，但至少让我有了更多资讯，来重新思考、詮释这歌曲。
