StarOffice 9基于开源的OpenOffice.org 3.0，首次原生支持苹果Mac OS X操作系统，提供了新的开始中心和图标，并集成了Mozilla Tunderbird邮件客户端，文字处理Writer、电子表格Calc、演示文稿Impress、数据库Base和图表制作Draw等各个组件都进行了升级，
