“新版Rhapsody强化了自动化功能，让MDD更适合C开发人员和Eclipse集成式开发。”IBM/Telelogic 系统工程方法论专家Hans-Peter Hoffmann博士日前接受记者采访时表示。他指出，Rhapsody基于Telelogic的模型驱动架构设计，可以将生成的代码、现有代码、第三方库和其他模型组件等都合并到一个构建环境中，其中所包含的实时构建框架能够自动将Rhapsody模型适配到任何平台。Rhapsody能够提供虚拟的原型展现功能，即在开发早期使用集成的图形面板，做到快速可视化和用户设计的原型验证。另外，图形面板允许工程师在模拟过程中轻松修改、监控和分析数据。
新版Rhapsody 加强了对SysML（系统建模语言）的支持，并含有SysML需求表、分配表和关系矩阵，能够帮助用户轻松组织、自定义和查看大量信息。
Hoffmann表示，新的Rhapsody Eclipse Plug-in和图形面板也将面世。据介绍，新的Rhapsody Eclipse Plug-in是在Eclipse开源开发环境中进行集成的Rhapsody插件。它使得负责开发嵌入式设备和实时系统软件的工程师在熟悉的开发环境下逐步采用MDD的同时，可以继续在代码层开发现有项目。
在Rhapsody Eclipse Plug-in的协作下，软件开发人员利用Eclipse的代码编辑功能简化工作流和提高效率，并能始终在相同的开发环境中开发。Hoffmann强调，Rhapsody Eclipse Plug-in 通过使用Rhapsody的逆向工程和代码同步功能，使开发人员可以在完备的开发环境中进行开发代码或模型。以这种方式进行开发时，代码和模型能够始终保持同步，而且可以轻松地在两者之间进行切换。
