冒险游戏的玩家们第一次见到Fenimore Fillmore还是在1996年的Dos游戏《3 Skulls of the Toltecs》中。在他那第一次冒险中，Fenimore穿越拓荒前的美国西部找寻能够开启传说宝藏的黄金头骨。经过很长一段时间的间隔后，我们勇敢的牛仔升级为3D形象，于《Wanted：A Wild Western Adventure》（注：这个名称是在北美发行时用到的，实际就是《Westerner》）中重处江湖，任务就是阻止John Starek窃取土地。不过作为一名牛仔可是永远闲不住的，这次广阔的西部又在召唤他了。赶快穿上你的长外套、戴上牛仔帽，装上马鞍，当然还要确保有足够的弹药。我们那位著名的牛仔在《Fenimore Fillmore’s Revenge》中又回来了！
在这最新的一集中，开发商Revistronic将把Fenimore Fillmore系列引入同以往不同的方向上。按照公司网站上所说的，Revistronic正在尝试让公司转型为在制作冒险游戏同时也捎上卡通动画。对于Fenimore Fillmore系列来说，最根本的改变将会是游戏的基调。《Fenimore Fillmore’s Revenge》仍将是款冒险游戏，不过比起该系列其他作品来说基调要严肃许多，这一点我们从放出的游戏画面中就能立即看出来。它带给冒险类游戏更强的动感，集合了其它游戏类型的动作和其它元素，向平时那些不太关注冒险类游戏的玩家展示，冒险游戏除了娱乐性之外，也能制作得非常华丽，甚至相当暴力！《Fenimore Fillmore’s Revenge》似乎定位于更成熟的玩家群。 在游戏中，Fenimore将不再独自冒险。第二部中的Rhiannon Starek这次将加入冒险旅程。两位主人公Fenimore和Rhiannon同上集的形象设计上也有了非常大的改动，玩家们脑中的印象也许都还停留在《Westerner》中，这次他们两个将会变得更加粗暴，同时表现也更为成熟。已完成的并更先进的程序代码会让玩家感到更多的革新和惊奇，也允许他们交替控制这两名角色。他们二人将面对一群匪徒，在一名狩猎者的帮助下，穿梭于群山和草地之间，寻找隐藏在古墓中的宝藏。
