Rob Swift出生在Jackson Heights，皇后区附近。在他的成长期间，深受尖端爵士乐艺术家Herbie Hancock，以及一些较为典型的DJ heroes，比如Grandmaster Flash, Grand Wizard Theodore, 和DJ Premier的影响。从Baruch学院毕业并得到心理学学位之后，Rob Swift便加入了90年代创办的一个顶尖的scratching(刮痕)群体——X-MEN（后来被称为的X ecutioners ）。在1992年，他和rapper Akinyele在他的各国之行中赢得the DMC East Coast Turn Table Championship and DJed之称。1997年，Rob Swift和X ecutioners发行了他们的第一张专辑《Soulful Fruit》并受到了各界的好评，他的灵感便滚滚而来，1999年的《The Ablist》，接下来的《Airwave Invasion》, 《Sound Event》, 和《Under the Influence》。2004年，在发行了专辑《OuMuPoVol. 2》后，Rob Swift便离开了X ecutioners。在这之后的两年里，他又发行了《War Games》和《Back to the Beat》两张专辑。
