　　女孩翠西Tracey Berkowitz（艾莲·佩奇饰）在一辆公共汽车后面，用一块破烂的浴室窗帘布把自己的裸体裹起来。她正在四处寻找自己的弟弟桑尼，就好像他是一只小狗一样。
　　翠西的旅程把我们带入了城市中心最薄弱的黑暗地区，进入令她情绪糟糕至极的家里，穿过了她就读的那所残酷无情的高中，和她的心理医生玩起了猫捉老鼠的游戏，还有让她浮想联翩的男友Billy Zero。翠西的旅程同样还把她和这座城市的其他生命联系在了一起。比如说兰斯（Lance），原本可以成为她的救世主，结果却把她的生活推向了危险的边缘。
　　当我们更加清楚桑尼失踪的真相的时候，翠西的故事也开始变得异常混乱起来，谎言与希望都是如此绝望。原来是在和Billy Zero秘密约会的时候，翠西疏忽照看自己的弟弟。唯一能接受她的罪过，让她寻求赎罪的方式，就是让自己的生命继续下去……
