听起来融入诸如魔法，电锯，霰弹枪，僵尸这些元素的电影改编成游戏像是一场豪赌。尽管《Evil Dead》的系列电影早在上个世纪问世了，但以此系列而派生的游戏却充其量沦为不堪入目的三流作品。THQ和Cranky Pants Games希望他们的下款改编游戏能像其标题一样打破以往的传统—《Evil Dead Regeneration》前期本作将推出PC及Xbox版本。
　《Evil Dead Regeneration》是款改编于第二部同名电影的第三人称视角的动作游戏，而游戏故事又与电影情节不尽相同。你在游戏中操作的正是电影中的那位妙语连珠的主角艾许（Ash），而且在配音方面还起用的布鲁斯.坎贝尔（Bruce Campbell）亲自上阵。
　如果你看过原电影的话，应该对艾许切掉被恶魔感染的手臂而在残肢上装备了电锯的情节不会陌生。在《Regeneration》中，你将再次拿着电锯和霰弹枪这两把从始至终陪伴你的经典武器踏上斩妖除魔的路途去肆意收拾敌人。在游戏中你会频繁遇到以下情形：当你击倒敌人对方会昏厥并释放绿色的烟雾时，你可以助跑同时按键执行必杀的指令。有一个很酷情节是艾许转身朝向背后的一具僵尸，把霰弹枪扛在肩膀上顺势拧下怪物的头颅。在行动上加入了查看其他动作指令附加书的战斗系统，可以帮助我们找出瞬间杀僵尸的方法来快速清理场景。而目标锁定则能在与敌人混战时集中攻击一个敌人。最后要说的是，你可以释放“恶魔艾许”来将自身的能力提升到平时的数倍，这时只需简单一击就能横扫千军。按照THQ的讲解，你在整个游戏时期还有助手伴随，还能把他当作武器踢进敌人堆里，帮你解决敌人。
　这款游戏还将推出PS2版本，不过目前此版本的开发进度只完成了50%。游戏开场为一间小木屋，将经历10个不同的关卡。声效方面在电锯声音的真实感处理上有些差强人意，但Crank Pants会在游戏发布前利用大量时间严格谨慎修正这些问题。而像坎贝尔的优美配音得到了该系列支持者的一致肯定。
　可以理解恶魔重生的支持者们对这款授权改编电影的游戏持怀疑态度。但恐怕经过Cranky Pants的稍稍润色后，游戏很可能就成为历代最好的一部。让我们拭目以待日后游戏的正式苏生，再去对细节品头论足吧。

  Enter an all-new Evil Dead experience, as Ash finds himself arrested, 
  convicted of murder, and sentenced to Sunny Meadows, an institute for the 
  criminally insane. Though better than the madness he escaped hidden within 
  the woods, he quickly learns the evil has only become more malevolent. 
  Deep in the basement of an insane asylum, the mad Dr. Vingo Reinhard 
  combines technology with The Book of The Dead, AKA The Necronomicon to 
  fulfill perverted experiments of his very own. Hell-bent on using science 
  to harness the Necronomicon's powers, the malevolent doctor unleashes the 
  book's all-powerful Evil on the world - creating a new breed of Deadites, 
  monsters and experiments gone wrong, twisting reality into a hellish 
  strudel and leaving mankind with that not-so-fresh apocalyptic feeling.
