我一直固执的认为，爵士钢琴三重奏的最高点是由Bill Evans、Scott LaFaro和Paul Motian在1961年的Village Vanguard创造的，再也没有任何人可以超越甚至是接近。有时我会突发奇想，也许老天都妒忌他们的才华，所以才匆匆的把LaFaro招入天堂，只留下屈指可数的几张专辑。所以，虽然说无比的讨厌小日本，但在这里不得不感谢他们为我们带来这套全集。
Bill Evans和Scott LaFaro于59年开始合作，开创了jazz piano trio的崭新形式，两人的合作在1961年驻场于纽约Village Vanguard时期达到巅峰状态，61年6月25日的演出后来被收集于Sunday at the Village Vanguard和Waltz for Debby两张专辑中（两张专辑均为企鹅爵士4星戴花和AMG5星）。录音后一周，LaFaro就因为车祸不幸身亡，Village Vanguard的录音也成为他最后的录音。
这套Complete Live at the Village Vanguard共有三张cd，包括了上述两张专辑的全部内容和其他未发表作品。Disc2和3会在后两天发布，谢谢
