日本的女性复仇电影。故事讲述日本明治年间，政府瓦解，人民失去希望，官员勾结，更利用暗杀组织铲除异己。女主角雪姬（梶芽衣子）父亲被害，母亲也在生下她后去世。二十多年后，雪姬出落成一个漂亮的有情有义、武艺高强的侠女杀手，肩负着恩怨她的开始踏上了艰险的复仇之旅……此片号称日本版的《杀死比尔》，但却比美国版的《杀死比尔》早了30年问世。藤田敏八是日本的著名导演，代表作《赤提灯》稳列日本百部佳片之榜中。此片2001年有翻拍版，但艺术成就远在这个70年代版本之下。

Yuki’s family is nearly wiped out before she is born due to the machinations of a band of criminals. These criminals kidnap and brutalize her mother but leave her alive. Later her mother ends up in prison with only revenge to keep her alive. She creates an instrument for this revenge by purposefully getting pregnant. Though she dies in childbirth,   she makes sure that the child will be raised as an assassin to kill the criminals who destroyed her family. Young Yuki never knows the love of a family but only killing and  revenge.

"A truly classic samurai movie which not only has its fair share of pacey, exhilirating action scenes, but also a really    pertinent history and cultural context. Ahead of its time in some ways, the film is structured very unconventionally, in    four chapters detailing Lady Snowblood’s past and future.  This is a technique Tarantino has used in his films,particularly relevantly his recent ‘Kill Bill’, which one can draw many comparisons to." You do not want to miss this one, folks. This movie owns so much, we spared no expense to bring it to you. The subtitles were embedded, but thankfully, into the black border of the film. It was then possible to cut them out and we manually input them for you in a convenient subtitle file. Enjoy!
