黄金版将包含新的Blackstaff单人战役关卡、之前只能通过特别版获得的12个根据历史改编的攻城事件、3个核心战役、4个多人游戏模式（包括新的“加冕”模式）和一个免费版沙盒模式。

已经拥有《要塞3》的玩家，或在5月25日前购买游戏的玩家可以通过Steam自动把手头的游戏升级为黄金版。在25日过后购买标准版游戏的玩家可以通过扩展内容形式单独购买Blackstaff战役关卡。下面是黄金版的游戏截图。
